Dr. Ellen Langer, known as the First Lady of Mindfulness, who is also a tenured Harvard Psychologist, has shown the power of belief in various studies. One of my favorites is her Counterclockwise Study where they were actually able to reverse signs of aging by having a group of 70-year old men live and act as if they were back in the 1950's for one week. At the end of the week, they showed improvements in flexibility, dexterity, memory, hearing, posture, cognitive ability and general wellbeing. They used their mind to create a different belief and literally turned back their physical clocks.
That’s what makes mindfulness your superpower.
